Blaine LaMar Garn, 84, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at his home at Lincoln Court Retirement Center.
He was born April 15, 1928, in Idaho Falls to William Martin Garn and Athailiah Verna McMillan.
He attended school at Milo Elementary and Ucon Middle School.
He was a proud dairy farmer all of his life.
He married Donna May Edwards on May 2, 1946, and they were later divorced. On April 13, 1975, he married Stella Winter in Las Vegas.
Blaine was a former member of the Elks Lodge and enjoyed shooting pool, dancing and doing yardwork.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served as the ward dance director.
Blaine is survived by his children, sons, Steve Garn and Roger (Shellie) Garn, both of Idaho Falls, and daughter, Terri (Scott) Heilesen of Idaho Falls; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Mack, Kay and Reed; and three sisters, Verna Wilding, Beth Ray and Gilda Joy, who was stillborn.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Wood Funeral Home East Side Chapel, 963 S. Ammon Road, with Bishop Scott Earl officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will follow in Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
