Brenen Pettingill is now with the angels after passing away Friday, Feb. 21, 2014. He was 22 years old.
Brenen was born in Layton, Utah, on Dec. 18, 1991, to Tod and Michelle Pettingill. He moved with his parents to Idaho Falls in 1994. He was a student at Linden Park Elementary School. In 2004, Brenen moved with his mother to Virginia, where he graduated from Potomac Falls High School in 2010. After high school, he became a student at Northern Virginia Community College.
Brenen was an incredibly bright and creative person, a free spirit and a kind, gentle soul who had a passion for animals and a fascination with computers. He built his own computer, taught himself several programming languages and was interested in becoming a software programmer. He had a particular love for his cockatoo, Daphne, his Amazon parrot, Dexter, and his dogs, Zoey and Bentley.
Brenen left us far too soon and with so much promise. We will always cherish his memory and find comfort knowing that his soul is at peace.
He is survived by his mother, Michelle Pettingill of Sterling, Va.; father, Tod Ray (Lori Lynn) Pettingill of Troutdale, Ore.; stepsister, Shelby Rae Chambers of Troutdale, Ore.; grandparents, Richard and Shirlene Fryer of Idaho Falls; uncle, Derek Fryer of Weston, Ore.; aunt, Kim Deane (John Allen) Heinke of Bellingham, Wash.; and cousin, Rachel Deane Heinke of Bellingham, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jerald Ray and Ginger Ivey Pettingill, and grandmother, Sharon Deane Pettingill.
