Cynthia "Cindy" Johnson Garcia, 61, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, after a long battle with breast cancer. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.
She was born Jan. 26, 1951, in Herington, Kan., to Delbert Keith Johnson and Clara Marie Staatz Johnson. She attended school in Kansas and graduated from Cheney High School in 1969.
She married Thomas Garcia on June 18, 1991, in Brighton, Colo. Thomas passed away Sept. 21, 2011.
She was a cook in a restaurant, a custodian for Thornton, Colo., public school, and was an assembly line worker for Cessna Aircraft in Wichita, Kan.
She enjoyed fishing, card games, computer games and spending time with family and friends. She loved cats and dogs and going on drives.
Cindy is survived by a daughter, Carrie Willison of Idaho Falls; two sons, Joey Shelton of Idaho Falls and Chris Willison of Wasilla, Alaska; six grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew; a sister, Kathy Armbruster of Hutchinson, Kan.; a brother, Don Johnson of Louisville, Ky.; and her best friend, Julie McKinney of Idaho Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Garcia; and her parents and grandparents.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at Fielding Memorial Park in Idaho Falls, under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
