David "Dave" Rolph passed away at his home in St. George, Utah, on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013. He had a struggle with diabetes and other illnesses for many years.
He was born Sept. 28, 1955, to Orville L. Rolph and Bonnie J. Nyman. David had many talents. He would go with his father on landscaping jobs and really liked it. A few years later, his father died, and they moved to Seattle. David went to work for a painter; he was very good at it. There wasn't much he couldn't do. He loved to fish, bowl and hunt.
He found the love of his life and married Karen Drotzman. The two of them lived in Seattle and he worked for a paint company. They started their own painting company, but after a few years, he became ill. Later, they moved to St. George, Utah, where he spent the rest of his life.
He loved dogs, especially the one he named Killer. He also loved gardening and landscaping. His yard was always the talk of the neighborhood. Dave and Karen always worked hard in work and play.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; mother, Bonnie; stepfather, Lewie; brother, Craig and his wife, Dawn; brother, DeWayne, his daughter Crystal and her daughters Mattie and Mickey; David's three sons, David, Michael and Tony; and Karen's daughter, Jenny.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Tony Rolph; his father, Orville Rolph; and all of his grandparents.
Dave, we will miss you and love you forever.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at Calvary Chapel, 4250 S. 25th East, with a graveside dedication of his grave at Rose Hill Cemetery.
