Diana McIntosh

Diana Lea McIntosh, 80, of Idaho Falls, peacefully returned home to her Father in Heaven on Thursday, April 24, 2014.

Diana was born in Fort Worth, Texas, to Bernice Odella Day Metcalf and Alva Lee Metcalf. Diana was raised in Duncan, Okla., and Albuquerque, N.M. She graduated from high school in Albuquerque and married Frank S. Kauffman in 1952.

This union brought two children, Bruce Lee and Terry Lynn. Frank was a radio operator for the Air Force. The couple traveled to several locations and Bruce was born in Biloxi, Miss., in 1953 and Terry in Lancaster, Calif., in 1956. The couple divorced in 1964.

Diana later married C.W. McIntosh, and the couple lived in Nevada, Utah, North Carolina and Texas. They were later divorced.

Diana moved to Red Oak, Texas, from 1985 to 1987, where she lived with her sister, Nina, and brother-in-law, Clyde. She later returned to Albuquerque to live near her son, Bruce, from 1987 to 2000. While there she worked at Sizzler.

After Bruce's passing in 2000, she moved to Idaho to live near her daughter, Terry. She worked at Fiesta Ole on Yellowstone in 2001 until she retired in 2003.

Diana was active with her retirement community in Idaho Falls playing cards.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvie and Bernice; her sister, Nina; and her son, Bruce.

She is survived by her daughter, Terry Lynn Armstrong of Idaho Falls; granddaughters, Chastity Hill of Idaho Falls and Mandy (Mike) Johnson of Shelley; grandsons, Justin (Tabi) Armstrong of Driggs, Tyler Armstrong of Rock Springs, Wyo., and James (Jenni) Armstrong of Tetonia; eight great-granddaughters; three great-grandsons; and two nieces, Debra and Leenette of Texas.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 4, at Baxter Funeral Home, 717 Main St. in Ashton.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Flint Packer and the staff of Solace Hospice for their years of care and love to Diane.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Solace Hospice in Diana's name.
