Gerald Robert Gray

Gerald Robert Gray, 74, Idaho Falls resident, passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 22, 1938, in Albion, Idaho, to Robert Charles Gray and Freda Perrins Gray. He grew up in Blackfoot. In 1956, he graduated from Blackfoot High School.

He served with the Idaho National Guard.

On Aug. 15, 1957, he married Joy Howell in Elko, Nev.

In Idaho Falls, he worked for Challenge and Cream O' Weber Dairy delivering milk and also worked for the Post Register.

Gerald was a member of the Elks Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing bingo. Gerald was a hard worker and loved his family very much.

He is survived by his wife, Joy Gray of Idaho Falls; daughter, Kelli (Rod) Hughes of Idaho Falls; sons, Kevin (Lori) Gray and Kent (Karen) Gray, both of Blackfoot; sister, Barbara (Dr. Albert Winkler, deceased) Winkler of Portland, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Novecek, and two great-grandsons, Dylan Hughes and Trevor Peterson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. in Idaho Falls, with Bishop Rod Hughes officiating. The family will meet with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Coltrin Mortuary and Thursday for one hour prior to services at the mortuary. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
