Helen Radford

Helen Marie Courtney Radford passed away peacefully Saturday, June 8, 2013, with her loving daughter at her side.

Helen was born September 19, 1931, in Ridgeway, Mo., to Jesse Veral and Maudie Marie Courtney and was the fourth of five children.

On Christmas Day in 1947, she married her eternal companion, Franklin Dean Radford. Together they raised two children, Linda and Frank.

Helen was a wonderful quilter, painter and golfer. She joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in September 1958 and has since held and enjoyed many callings in the church, where she loved to serve. She was passionate about her role as a homemaker, keeping her home immaculate and organized.

In 1992, Helen and her husband, Dean, served an 18-month mission in St. Louis. It was a very special time in their lives. Everywhere they went, Helen developed lasting relationships with all her cherished friends, "adopting" many of them and claiming them as her own.

Helen and Dean loved their time living in many places, including Twin Falls, Arco and Idaho Falls, but Helen especially enjoyed living in Jackson and later in Star Valley, as she dearly loved her view of the Tetons and the Wyoming mountains. She moved to Clearfield, Utah, in 2004 to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her son, Franklin Dean Jr.; husband, Franklin Dean; a great-grandson, Jaxxon; as well as her three brothers, Gerald, Ed and Kenny.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Linda Marie McMurdie (Chatley Neil) of Clearfield, Utah; her dedicated sister, Roberta Bridge of Twin Falls, Idaho; four steadfast grandsons; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 15, in the Ucon Ward LDS Meetinghouse, 10854 N. 41st East in Ucon, Idaho. Services will begin following the viewing.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Humanitarian or the Missionary Fund.
