James "Bud" H. Frew, 87, of Roberts, Idaho, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
He was born Nov. 25, 1926, in Clarkston, Utah, to Stanley W. Frew and Lillie Jardine Frew. He was raised and attended schools in Roberts.
Bud also ranched in the Roberts area.
He worked at Simplot Soil Builders in Roberts and Osgood. He served with the Merchant Marines during WWII in the Pacific and Atlantic Theatre. Throughout his lifetime, Bud enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Bud is survived by his daughter, Jerry Ervin Cowley of Boise; his son, Jim (Sharon) Frew of Roberts; his two sisters, Elizabeth Aldous of Blackfoot and Mary (Ray) Treasure of Vancouver, Wash.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora Mae Ellis Frew; two daughters, Jacquline and baby girl; and his four brothers, Lorin Frew, John Frew, Dick Frew and Bill Frew.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main St. in Rigby. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday prior to services, both times at the funeral home. Burial will be in Annis-Little Butte Cemetery in Annis.
