Jamie Aline Dazey, 85, of Idaho Falls, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014, in Idaho Falls.
Jamie was born June 25, 1928, in Rocky Ford, Colo., to John Calvin Addington and Helen Gould Russell Addington. She grew up in Colorado, where she attended school and graduated from Swink High School in 1945. She also attended Colorado State University.
On June 16, 1946, she married Wayne E Dazey in Colorado Springs, Colo. They moved to Idaho, where she lived in Grangeville, Buhl, Blackfoot, Shelley and Idaho Falls.
Jamie was a member and strong supporter of Al-Anon, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the United Methodist Church in Shelley. She enjoyed being outside, growing plants and gardening. Jamie was an accomplished artist, avid reader and enjoyed sewing and playing piano. She will be missed as a mother, sister, friend and mentor.
Jamie is survived by her sons, Darryl Wayne (Nancy) Dazey of Portland, Ore., and Charles William "Bill" (Cindy) Dazey of Hillsboro, Ore.; daughters, Carryl Aline (Grover) Dazey-Brown of Newberg, Ore., and Betsy (Wayne) Hanks and Jamie Ann Dazey, both of Idaho Falls; sisters, Clarabeth Wadhams of Colorado and Bernice Hammerquist of Idaho; grandchildren, Troy Sage, Korie Sage, Kris (Malinda) Dazey, Nichole Shull and Tanisha Dazey; and a great-grandson, Aiden Dazey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, in 2004; and two sisters, Helen Phillips Rainey and Evelyn Atwood.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at the Shelley Community Church, 190 S. Holmes Ave. in Shelley, with Reverend Brenda Sene and Pastor Davey Leffler officiating. Burial will be in New Sweden Cemetery.
