Kenneth C. Davis, 67, of Idaho Falls, passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at his home. He was under the care of OneSource Hospice.
Kenneth was born Aug. 27, 1946, in Driggs to Leo Davis and Gladys Christensen Davis. He grew up and attended schools in Driggs and graduated from Teton High School.
After school, he joined the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War. He retired after 22 years of service.
On May 16, 1972, he married Mitsuyo Murakami in Tokyo, Japan. To this union was born a daughter, Kimberly. Kenneth and Mitsuyo made their home in Idaho Falls after his retirement, where Kenneth worked in security for Eastern Idaho Technical College.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Mitsuyo Davis of Idaho Falls; daughter, Kimberly (Scott) Bishop of Idaho Falls; brother, Roy (Melodee) Davis of Driggs; and sisters, Chris (John) Decker of Layton, Utah, and Sherri Hansen of Driggs.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Jean Kysar.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at the Kearney LDS 2nd Ward, 1860 Kearney St., with Bishop Frank Plain officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be in Iona Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
