Kevin Jack McMinn

Kevin Jack McMinn, 54, of Rexburg, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born March 23, 1959, in Idaho Falls to Jack and Elizabeth Kaye Jenkins McMinn. He was raised in Plano. He attended schools in Sugar City and at Eastern Idaho VoTec.

He married Marcie Lloyd, and they were later divorced. He served in the Army from May 1976 until receiving an honorable discharge in April 1978.

In 2002, he moved to Alaska, and in 2012, he returned to Idaho and lived in Salem.

Kevin always enjoyed being in the outdoors -- especially driving down an old country road on his four-wheeler with Breanna and Kenny, headed to the river to go fishing to see who could catch the biggest salmon. He was always in the mood to go hunting, camping or fishing.

He always knew right from wrong and would tell you exactly what you were doing wrong. Kevin would try to teach anyone who was willing to do the work and listen, as that was how he was taught by his parents.

He is survived by his children, Greg (Tara) of Kenai, Alaska, and Ryan (Anna) and Chris, both of St. Anthony; his mother, Kaye McMinn of Salem; siblings, Debra McMinn of Portland, Ore.; Brenda McMinn of Twin Falls, and Donna McMinn of Soldotna, Alaska; and six grandchildren, Jessica, Draiden, Laiton, Colton, Kaitlyn and Gauyn.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack McMinn; grandparents, Lloyd and Elizabeth McMinn and Harvey and Edith Jenkins; nephews, Levi and Russell McMinn; and uncles, Bill, Bruce and Fred McMinn.

He will be missed by all he touched with his heart and hands. He will never be forgotten.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, at Flamm Funeral Home, 61 N. First East in Rexburg. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. before services Monday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Parker Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Idaho Honor Guard.
