Lee Mawson

Leland "Lee" J. Mawson, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013, at his home. He was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho and his loving daughters.

Lee was born June 26, 1929, in Ammon to George William Mawson and Chloe Alberta Mawson. He grew up in Ammon and graduated from Ammon High School. Lee served in the U.S. Air Force as a staff sergeant during the Korean War.

On Aug. 3, 1958, he married Monna Jean Caudle. Together they raised their two daughters, Robyn and Kristen. Monna passed away Nov. 30, 1990.

In October 1992, Lee married Mary Margaret Lundine in the First Christian Church in Idaho Falls. Mary passed away Jan. 1, 1997.

Lee worked as an RCA field technician representative and retired from Intermountain Gas Company as a corrosion technician.

Lee was a member of the First Christian Church. He enjoyed golf, hunting, skiing and camping.

Survivors include his daughters, Robyn Elizabeth (Brett) Ravan of Louisa, Va., and Kristen Morgan of Idaho Falls; brothers, Francis William (Susan) Mawson of Nampa, Idaho, Don D. (Gloria) Mawson of Mesa, Ariz., and Gene William Covert of Idaho Falls; sisters, Alberta Betsy Gray of Idaho Falls and Verla May (Hank) Shumate of Swan Valley, Idaho; three grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Paxton, Jason Lee Wilkinson and Trevor Madison Ravan; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Thursday prior to services, both times at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Veterans' rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and the Idaho Honor Guard.
