Lester Arthur Stephan, 93, of Idaho Falls, formerly of Neenah, Wis., passed away Friday, Feb.
7, 2014, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Idaho Falls.
He was born March 5, 1920, in Neenah, a son of Arthur and Marie Giese Stephan.
Lester joined the Marines and fought in World War II. After military life, Lester led a life in Idaho as a nuclear physicist. In his free time, he enjoyed bird hunting and fishing.
Lester is survived by a nephew, Robert (Pauline) Cleveland of Menasha, Wis.; two great-nieces and great-nephews, Allen (Jessie) Cleveland of Neenah and Robin Cleveland of Menasha; two great-great-nieces and –nephews, Josephine and Nathaniel Cleveland, both of Neenah; and other relatives and friends in Idaho.
Lester was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sue; and two sisters, Genevieve (Donald) Cleveland and Lorraine (Gene) Kraft.
A special thanks to Ron and Carol for being there for Lester over the years.
Graveside services with full military honors will take place 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, in Oak Hill Cemetery in Neenah, Wis. Services are under the care of Kessler Funeral Home in Neenah, Wis. A memorial has been established in Lester's name.
