Lois Anne Taylor Sharp, 84, of Rexburg, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of natural causes.
She was born Nov. 17, 1928, in Sunnydell, Idaho, the fifth child of John Henry and Hazel Mattson Taylor. She attended grade school in Sunnydell and graduated from Madison High School in Rexburg. She loved living on the family farm.
She married William "Bill" Martell Sharp on June 20, 1947, in Dillon, Mont. Their marriage was solemnized Aug. 3, 1965, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They raised four children, Linda, Richard, Perry and Demar.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a Cub Scout leader. While her son Richard was on his mission in Alaska, she worked in a laundry to help support him. She also worked as a custodian for the LDS church.
Lois loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her sister Neta; they talked with each other on the phone nearly every day. She enjoyed growing plants in her home.
She is survived by her children, Linda (Brent) Dye of Idaho Falls, Perry (Carol) Sharp of Grant and Demar (Rosemarie) Sharp of Rexburg; a daughter-in-law, Susan Sharp of Rexburg; 13 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; brothers, Donnel, Raymond, Byron and Lorin Taylor; a sister, Neta Miller; and a son, Richard Martell Sharp.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at Flamm Funeral Home, 61 N. First East in Rexburg. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Monday before services at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sutton Cemetery.
