Michelle Santos

Michelle Renee Santos, 39, of Idaho Falls, went peacefully to her heavenly home surrounded by family Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at her home in Idaho Falls.

She was born July 30, 1973, in Idaho Falls to Salvidor Jr. Salinas and Geneva Maria Segura. She was the fourth of four children from that union. She has three brothers and four sisters.

She married Rafael Santos on April 12, 1995, in Idaho Falls and later went on to have four beautiful girls. Michelle and Rafael divorced some time later.

Michelle was a homemaker for most of her life and she loved every minute of it. She loved to be surrounded by family and friends as much as possible. She loved to cook and loved trying new things. She also loved to see what others had cooked. It was her famous saying, "What's to eat?" when she would go visit family and friends.

Despite the fact that Michelle had a lot of health problems, she always thought of others and what she could do for them. She loved to keep busy, she loved to do crafts and go swimming when she could. Most importantly she loved her grandkids. She has six and one on the way. Michelle thrived in spoiling and spending time with each and every one of them when she could. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt. Michelle is a very special person and will be missed by all.

She is survived by her children, daughters, Cecilia Marie (Jorge) Gomez, Angelica (Santi) Izucar, Yvette Santos and Veronica Santos, all of Idaho Falls; five grandchildren, Josaiyah, Isaiyah and Jaleiyah Izucar, and Geovanni and Aendrez Gomez; mom and stepdad, Geneva (Hernunio) Cruz; brother, John (Debra) Salinas; sisters, Maria Elena (Atanacio) Acosta, Erica Giles and Jessica (T.J) Romero; half-brothers, Juan Salinas and Alvaro Ricardo (Rachael) Salinas; and half-sister, Irma (Jose) Trevino.

Michelle was preceded in death by her father, Salvidor Jr. Salinas; and her grandson, Junior Gomez.

A viewing will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fielding Memorial Park in Idaho Falls, with Father Raul R. Covarrubias officiating.
