Paul Mansfield Ostler, 76, of Idaho Falls, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center from a heart attack.
He was born March 14, 1937, in St. Anthony, the third son born to George Lloyd Ostler and Georgeana Ricks Ostler. He grew up and attended schools in Sugar City.
He belonged to the National Guard for 7 years.
On June 21, 1957, he married Katie Lorene Stone in Idaho Falls. Besides his home in Sugar City, he lived in Shelley, Warm River and most recently Idaho Falls.
Paul worked for Van Gas and Intermountain Gas before he opened his own business, Paul's Heating, in 1968. He retired in 2004.
He enjoyed traveling, playing golf and bowling.
Paul loved to talk to everyone and he never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife, Katie Ostler of Idaho Falls; daughters, Susan (Si) Jaramillo of Idaho Falls, Pauline Nisson of Shelley and Karen Ostler of San Francisco; sons, Gary and Mark Ostler, both of Idaho Falls; sister-in-law, Nondus Ostler of Idaho Falls; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Max and Gary Ostler; and a son-in-law, Rick Nisson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, March 14, and Saturday one hour prior to services, both at the mortuary. Burial will be in Sugar City Cemetery.
