Pauline Conrad Ballard

Ballard Pauline Conrad Ballard of Idaho Falls died Monday, July 15, 2013.

She was born April 23, 1935, in Iona, Idaho, to Leslie Eugene Conrad and Lodema Sophia Wilde Conrad. She graduated from Bonneville High School class of 1953 and attended Utah State University.

During her life she had various employment positions: stenographer, interior decorator and substance abuse counselor. She was a member of the LDS church. She was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for the past 29 years, where she met many friends.

One of her favorite activities was playing golf, and she was a member of the Idaho Falls Ladies Golf Association, serving as president for one year. Most recently, she enjoyed her Ladies Tuesday Afternoon Card Group at the Elks Club. Tuesdays were her "fun" days and all through her medical challenges, she would protect those Tuesday afternoons for cards! Pauline married J. Newell Nelson and Susan was born; they were later divorced and she married Roger B. Madison; they were later divorced and she married Jerry Ballard.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Bruce) Bistline of Boise; sons, Roger (Linnea) B. Madison Jr., JD and Bradley S. Madison; grandchildren, Nikki Madison, Andre Madison, Will Madison and Brooke, Axel, Amber and Skyler, and two adopted grandchildren, Kenyon and Kloee. She is also survived by her loving sister, Eulene (Max) Waters of Blackfoot.

She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Eugene Madison; sister, Dorothy Storer; parents; brothers, Darrell and Byard Conrad; and stepfather, O.D. Farnsworth (Artie Farnsworth). Pauline's father died when she was 11 years old and Artie raised her as his own daughter after his marriage to her mother.
