Ron Meyer

Ronnie Lynn Meyer, 67, of Idaho Falls, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was under the care of his loving family and Aspen Home Health and Hospice. The family wishes to thank the ICU staff, especially Dr. John Miller, and Aspen Home Health for their excellent care of Ron.

Ron was born Sept. 10, 1945, in Idaho Falls to Ernest William Meyer and Helen Adams Meyer. He attended school in Iona and graduated from Bonneville High School.

Ron worked as a welder, truck driver and mechanic, and farmed in the Iona area for over 40 years.

On June 24, 1971, he married the love of his life, Winona Jean Izatt, in Ririe. To this union were born a daughter and son. Ron and Winona lived in Idaho Falls for almost 42 years.

His passion was his family, especially his grandchildren, as well as farming. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, woodworking, welding and other metal work.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 41 years; daughter, Carla (John) Rice of Idaho Falls; son, Jay (Natalie) Meyer of Rigby; granddaughters, Danielle Rice of Idaho Falls, and Aslynn, Lauren and Brooklyn Meyer of Rigby; grandson, Joshua Rice of Idaho Falls; his mother, Helen Meyer of Idaho Falls; sister, Janice (Ed) Hahn of Idaho Falls; and brothers, Clyde and Alan (Elise) Meyer of Idaho Falls.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest William Meyer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, with Byard Cox officiating. The family will visit with friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Wood Funeral Home East Side and Monday for one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
