Russell James Allen, 68, of Idaho Falls, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at his home.
He was born Feb. 15, 1945, in Idaho Falls to Buddy Gene Allen and Emma Ella Young Allen. He grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Idaho Falls High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War.
Russell worked as a painter, in shipping, as a mechanic, truck dispatcher, heavy equipment operator and truck driver. He enjoyed auto restoration, furniture restoration, woodworking, fishing and camping.
Survivors are his daughter, Lani Marie Jensen, of Idaho Falls; grandson, Brayden Price Spencer; brothers, Kenneth Jay Allen, Ted Michael Allen and Jay Harrison Allen; sisters, Wanda Jean Allen and Dixie Lee (Lanny R.) Dick; four nieces; and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Charles Phillip Allen.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ririe-Shelton Cemetery with military rites performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
