Antony "Tony" Mel Eaton, 52, of Shelley, passed away Monday, Dec., 31, 2012 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls from a sudden illness.
Tony, the youngest of four children, was born to Melvin J. Eaton and Colleen Collins on July 8, 1960, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Idaho Falls. Tony was raised in Shelley, where he received his schooling.
He spent six years in the National Guard and worked as a mixer truck driver for 25 years.
He was married twice, first to Beverly Cook of Shelley, with whom he had one son, Jeremy Eaton; then to Becky Charon of North Dakota for 10 years. They had five children together: Scott Antony, Tyler Ray, Joshua James, Ashley Kay and Chelsea Lynn.
Tony enjoyed all kinds of sports, basketball in high school, water skiing with the family while growing up, learning to play golf with his mother, Colleen, and hunting and fishing with his dad, Melvin. Tony took great pride in being the only one of his siblings to become as good a hunter and angler as his dad. His favorite pastime was watching the sports of golf, basketball, NASCAR, and especially his favorite team, the Minnesota Vikings.
Tony was happiest when spending time with his children and grandchildren. Tony loved the outdoors, especially when camping, hunting and fishing with his sons. He loved watching movies with his daughters. It was always a special treat when his son, Jeremy, and his family were in town.
Tony is survived by his children, Jeremy (Amber) Eaton of Hawaii, and Tyler (Corttany) Eaton, Joshua (Katelyn) Eaton, Ashley Eaton and Chelsea (Kasey) Eaton, all of Shelley; his sisters, Debra Lee (Jerald G.) Justesen of Tucson, Ariz., and Brooks (Mel) Teeples of Layton, Utah; and his brother, Randy James (Wendy) Eaton of Shelley. Tony is also survived by his grandchildren, Angela, Jason, Bryson, Annabell, Brodie, Joslyn and Kamryn, due in April.
Tony was preceded in death by his son, Scott Anthony Eaton; and his father and mother, Melvin J. Eaton and Colleen Collins Eaton.
