Marjorie Zink

Marjorie Brown Zink, 82, of Ammon, passed away July 8, 2010, at her son's home from cancer. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health & Hospice.

She was born Dec. 20, 1927, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Worthy "WD" and Myrtle Henderson Brown. She attended elementary school in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1948.

She married Richard Zink on Dec. 24, 1951, in Idaho Falls, at the home of her parents. Richard preceded her in death June 20, 2001.

Over the years, Marjorie worked as a cashier at Russ's IGA and as a housekeeper and instrument technician at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She retired in 1986 and was the primary caregiver for her husband. She began working at the Rigby Senior Center in 2003 as a kitchen aid and was a teacher's aide at Harwood Elementary School. Marjorie was a resident of Idaho Falls for 75 years, Rigby for five years and Ammon for three years.

Marjorie was a member of Calvary Chapel, she enjoyed fishing, camping, sewing and spending time with friends and family.

Survivors include her son, Frank (Callene) Zink of Ammon; several nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, WD and Myrtle Brown; sisters, Beulah May and Ardell Brown Talbott; and brothers, Russell Brown and Ken Brown.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17, at Calvary Chapel, 4250 S. 25th East, with Pastor Gordon Boyle officiating. Family and friends will meet for one hour before the services.
