Arden Hyrum Mecham Obituary

Arden Hyrum Mecham, 37, of Idaho Falls, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, in a head-on collision near Watford City, N.D.

Arden was born Dec. 2, 1975, in Idaho Falls to Larry Jay Mecham and Garda Hale Mecham. He grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Skyline High School.

He married Darcy Lynn Lundberg on March 30, 1996. Their beautiful family was sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on May 23, 2009.

Arden worked for Center Partners, AutoTrader .com and in the oil fields of North Dakota. At the time of his death, he was working as a dispatcher for Maxxon Energy in Killdeer, N.D.

An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Arden had a strong testimony of the gospel. He served as ward clerk, Scoutmaster and in other callings. In the community, he coached his kids' soccer and baseball teams, which he loved. Arden was a devoted husband and father. His family meant everything to him.

Survivors include his wife of almost 17 years, Darcy Lynn Lundberg Mecham of Idaho Falls; children, Cole Everett Mecham, 15, Kaela Morgan Mecham, 13, Austin Larry Mecham, 11, Ethan Thomas Mecham, 5, and Levi Brett Mecham, 2; siblings, Kathleen Butler of Pocatello, Barbara Higgs of Burley, Lisa Bird of West Jordan, Utah, Bryce Mecham of Rexburg and Rachel Goates of Levan, Utah; grandmother, Mildred Mecham of Firth; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at the Idaho Falls LDS Eagle Rock Stake Center, 2020 S. Charlotte Drive, with Bishop Jerry Tomlinson of the Idaho Falls LDS Sageview Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, and from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Thursday before the funeral, with both visitations being held at the church. Burial will be in Firth Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Arden Mecham Memorial Fund at any Zions Bank.
