Blanche Marie Grover Kirkham, 88, of Sunnydale, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Rexburg on Tuesday, June 11, 2013.
She was born March 5, 1925, the fourth child of John Orr Grover and Elnorah Ann Homer of Archer. She attended school in Archer and graduated from Madison High School.
She married Cleo (Chip) Kirkham on Dec. 27, 1944. They enjoyed farming, raising cattle and working together. Chip passed away July 27, 1997.
She was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was always grateful for her pioneer ancestors. She served in the Primary, Sunday school and Relief Society.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting and gardening, and worked hard her whole life.
She is survived by her children, Carol (Gerald) Hatch of Colonia Juarez, Mexico, Judy Nelson of Rexburg, Nan (Dyle) Erickson of Rigby and Tom (Betty) Kirkham of Rayville, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Karen Kirkham Hoskins of Idaho Falls; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Russell Grover, Wesley Grover and Loren Grover; sister, Ruth Hansen; a daughter, Shirley Kirkham; and a great-granddaughter, Jakarta Clayson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 17, at the Archer-Sunnydell LDS Chapel, with Bishop Matt Taylor officiating. The family will meet with friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Flamm Funeral Home, 61 N. First East in Rexburg, and from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Sutton Cemetery in Archer.
