Bonnie Peterson Obituary

Bonnie Lucille Mathews Peterson, 55, of Idaho Falls, passed away Monday, July 22, 2013, at her home after a hard battle with cancer.

She was born Dec. 1, 1957, in Idaho Falls to Boyd Mathews and AnnaLu Warner Mathews. She grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Skyline High School.

On May 12, 1978, she married Mark Devlin Peterson in Idaho Falls. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on July 21, 2012.

Bonnie was a mother, grandmother and homemaker as well as a daycare provider. She also worked many years at Fred Meyer.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a Relief Society secretary. She enjoyed crocheting, playing with her dogs, indexing and especially loved spending time with her family.

Survivors are her husband, Mark Peterson of Idaho Falls children, Marissa (Scott) Singleton and Lauren Peterson, both of Ucon, and Justin Peterson, Sarah (Travis) Bailey, Brennen Peterson and Brandi (Cody) Stites, all of Idaho Falls; brothers, Bruce (Kim) Mathews, Steve (Julie) Lawson, Jerry Lawson, Kirk (Tracy) Lawson and Jason (Tenille) Lawson; sisters, Becky Walz, Beverly (Ken) Whetstone and Kristine Davis; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, her mother and her stepmother, Jeanette Mathews.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, at the Idaho Falls LDS 3rd Ward, 2025 Jennie Lee Drive, with Bishop Carroll Perkes officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park at a later date.
