Bruce Linton Obituary

Bruce Allan Linton, 78, of Idaho Falls, passed away Friday, May 2, 2014, at his home. Bruce was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.

Bruce was born Feb. 28, 1936, in Los Angeles to Hugh Walter Linton and Winnifred Ella Simmons Linton.

He grew up and attended schools in Scottsdale, Ariz., and graduated from Scotts- dale High School. From there he went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts and later a master's degree in law, both at the University of Arizona-Tucson.

Bruce practiced law in Phoenix and did legal work for Native Americans in Flagstaff, Ariz. In time, Bruce changed careers. He loved to work with his hands and made the decision to move to California to work with his brother, Gary, in construction. Bruce later moved to Idaho Falls to work for Briggs Construction until he started his own business, Linton Properties.

On March 12, 1994, he married Sharon Kay Draper Eames in Idaho Falls.

Bruce had many talents and hobbies. He loved to paint, fish, camp, golf and read. He practiced karate when he was younger. Most of all, he enjoyed finances and took special interest in mentoring anyone who wished to learn more about purchasing real estate as investment properties.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Sharon Linton of Idaho Falls; two stepsons, Scott Eames and Terry Eames, both of Idaho Falls; a brother, Hugh Linton of Cambodia; and a grandchild, Taylor Eames of Idaho Falls.

He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Davis; his parents; and his brother, Gary Linton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. The family will visit with friends from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday prior to services at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
