Diane Hammer Obituary

Diane Hammer, 60, of Idaho Falls, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at her home surrounded by friends and family from cancer. She was under the care of OneSource Hospice.

Diane was born June 18, 1953, in Idaho Falls to Rolland J Hammer and Helen Bean Hammer. She was a lifelong resident and graduated from Skyline High School. She also attended Idaho State University.

Diane made her home in Idaho Falls, where she worked as a waitress at Smitty's Pancake House for 26 years.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Diane loved attending family gatherings and especially spending time with her nieces and nephews. She loved animals and enjoyed fishing and playing cards.

Diane is survived by her sisters, Betty (Vern) Kaaiakammanu of Rexburg and Pat (Ricky) Hollon of Idaho Falls; and brother, Robert (Ronda) Hammer of Driggs.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Janet Hammer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Lincoln LDS 1st Ward, 3700 E. Lincoln Road, with Bishop Kent Lott officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Ammon Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a memorial fund in her name at the Bank of Idaho.
