Donald Gene Glenn, 81, of Arco, passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Portneuf Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Glenn was born Dec. 11, 1932, in Evansville, Ind., the son of Weaver Valentine and Daisy Belle Glenn. He attended school in Evansville and graduated from Central High. While in high school, he was active in sports, excelling in football.
He also attended Graceland College, continuing with sports and becoming a Junior College All-American. He graduated from Graceland College in 1956 and the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1967.
He served in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1955.
He married Priscilla Ann Shipley in June 1956.
Don coached in Melba, Marsing and Arco, where he coached from 1967 until he retired in 1992.
Don and Ann were divorced in 1983. Don married Susan Powell in July 1989, and they spent the rest of his life together.
He is survived by his wife, Susan, of Arco; children, Kelly (Rod) Daugherty of Kennesaw, Ga., Don (Kim) Glenn Jr. of Firth and Glen (Joni) Powell of Pocatello; one brother, Robert Glenn of Evansville, Ind.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, ReNee Perry, and sisters, Katherine and Maxine.
