Doris Jeanetta Adams Obituary

Doris Jeanetta Adams, 81, of Blackfoot, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013, at her home in Groveland.

Doris was born March 31, 1932, in Moreland, Idaho, to James Olin and Zelma Durrant Ockerman.

Doris was a lifetime resident of the Blackfoot area. She attended school in Moreland, graduating from Snake River High School.

On Aug. 6, 1954, Doris married Wendell Max Adams in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Wendell preceded her in death in 1990.

Doris was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was well known as the organist at church and at the Idaho Falls Temple.

Doris devoted her time and talents to being a wife and mother. She also taught piano lessons for many years.

Music was her life; she enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She loved planting and caring for her trees.

Doris is survived by her children, Kay Wendell (Gayle) Adams of Sammamish, Wash., Hal James (Debra) Adams of Idaho Falls, Byron Lee (Cindy) Adams of Boise and Joan T. (David) Forsberg of Pingree; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell; her parents; and three brothers, Terrell, John and Keith Ockerman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave. in Blackfoot. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, and Thursday for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be in Groveland Cemetery.
