Dorrel Harker Obituary

Dorrel Duane Harker, 49, passed away Sunday night, May 4, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center following complications from a stroke.

He was born Aug. 4, 1964, in Idaho Falls to Gordon and Nola Harker. He graduated from Firth High School in 1983. He then served in the Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He married Stephanie Peterson on Aug. 15, 1985, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple and had four daughters: Jessica Lynn, Brittany Lee, Courtney Ann and Ashley Amy.

He will be lovingly remembered by friends and family for the acts of services he gave to friends and family. He considered his friends family and would do anything for anyone.

He loved fishing and being in the outdoors. He made yearly trips back to his mission to go fishing for a week at a time.

He enjoyed cooking and hosting parties with friends. Family game nights on weekends were a must, complete with popcorn and milkshakes. He was a handyman that loved solving difficult problems.

He is survived by his parents, Gordon and Nola Harker of Firth; his siblings, Jody (Elmo) Smith of Evanston, Wyo., and Kendal Harker of Logan, Utah; his wife, Stephanie Peterson Harke, of Firth; and his daughters, Jessica Lynn of Chicago, Brittany Lee of Ammon, Courtney Ann of Firth, and Ashley (Navar) Andra and their two boys, Conrad and Kaisen of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
