Edythe Goshert Obituary

Edythe Audrey Goshert, 91, of Idaho Falls, passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 30, 1921, in Lakeview, Idaho (near Caldwell), to James Fredrick and Coral Starbuck Dibber. She grew up and attended a two-room school in the Lakeview community. In 1939, she graduated from Caldwell High School. She later attended and graduated from Links Business College.

On Dec. 12, 1941, she married Ray S. Goshert. They lived in Spokane from 1942 to 1945 while Ray served in the Armed Forces, Boise from 1945 to 1950, and in 1950, they moved to Idaho Falls. They owned Idaho Typewriter Exchange (ITEX). In 1965, they owned and operated Idaho Falls Monument Co., where she worked until she retired.

Edythe was a member of First Presbyterian Church and active in AGAPE. She was a member of S.C.O.R.E. Edythe enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, golfing, crocheting and being with her friends and family.

She was "Nana" to everyone who knew her and she was loved by everyone who met her.

She is survived by her daughter, Sondra (Scott) Thomas of Idaho Falls; sons, Gerald Goshert of Idaho Falls and Richard (Joyce) Goshert of Rigby; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, who passed away March 10, 1982; sisters, Betty Gage and Margie Dunaway; a brother, Louis; brothers-in-law, Kent Gage and Max Dunaway; and a grandson, Jason Goshert.

Funeral services will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at First Presbyterian Church, 325 Elm St. A gathering will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday prior to services. The family will also visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be Monday, Feb. 4, in Nyssa, Ore.
