An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as Primary president, Relief Society president, visiting teacher, Sunday School teacher and temple worker. She enjoyed reading, needlepoint, traveling, spending time with family and visiting Yellowstone National Park.

Eva is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Blaine; sons, Brian (Dawna) Petersen and Kevin Petersen, both of Idaho Falls, and Robert (Julie) Petersen of Eagle Mountain, Utah; brothers, Gene (Sandra) Mortensen of Providence, Utah, and Von (Darlene) Mortensen of Salt Lake City; sister, Barbara Palmer of Phoenix; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Chris Mortensen, Jay Mortensen, Perry Mortensen and Newel Mortensen; and one sister, DeNiece Mills.
