Gerald England Davis, 81, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family in Highland, Utah, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
He was born in Idaho Falls on Feb. 2, 1932. He is the youngest of six children. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1950 and served in the Air Force during the Korean War.
Jerry graduated from BYU and later married the love of his life, Carma Sue Mason, on Jan. 30, 1965, in Norwalk, Calif. They were later sealed in the LDS Los Angeles Temple on April 10, 1976.
Jerry loved to be surrounded by family and friends. His joys in life include BYU football and basketball games, country western music, being a real-life cowboy with his brother Jim, eating any treats with nuts and serving as a temple worker at the Mt. Timpanogos Temple baptistry.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sue; and children, Melissa (Todd) Stirling of St. George, Matthew (Jennifer) Davis of Cedar Hills, Rebecca (David) Brenchley of Highland, Allyson (Ryan) Standifird of Provo, Ryan (Amanda) Davis of Herriman, Erin (Dane) Nielsen of Lehi and Bayra (Garrett) Garfield of Portland, Ore. He also has 27 grandchildren who love him very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David Walter and Emily England Davis.
The family wishes to thank the aides, nurses and doctors of Inspiration Hospice and Encompass Home Health and Hospice for the loving care they provided Jerry.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27, at the Day Meadows LDS Chapel, 6050 W. Chapel Drive in Highland, Utah. A viewing will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 26, at Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 N. 900 East in American Fork, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday prior to services at the Day Meadows LDS Chapel. Interment will be held in Highland City Cemetery in Highland, Utah, immediately following the services.
