Glen Austin Strupp Obituary

Glen Austin Strupp, 92, of Rigby, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at The Gardens Senior Living Center in Rigby.

He was born Oct. 26, 1921, in Annis, Idaho, to Frank Strupp and Etta Drake Strupp. He was raised and attended schools in Annis.

On May 15, 1943, he married Evelyn Mueller in Idaho Falls; she preceded him in death.

On May 15, 1981, he married Norma Ann Chivers Fife in Swan Valley.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Toomer Construction for 42 years.

Glen served as president of the Jefferson County Historical and Farnsworth TV Museum and was on the board of directors for 16 years; he was serving as vice president at the time of his death. He served as co-chairman, with his wife, Ann, for the Jefferson County Stampede Parade.

Glen was an avid gardener and loved sharing his harvest with family and friends. He was also an avid Christmas light decorator. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Strupp of Rigby; stepdaughter, Holly (Kerry) Romrell of Rigby; stepsons, Wayne (Nikki) Fife of Menan and Joe (Trudy) Fife of Idaho Falls; brothers, Bud (Joyce) Strupp of Rigby and Louis Olsen of Menan; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evelyn Strupp; sisters, Lula Green, Annie Olaveson and Gladys Worman; and brothers, Amos Strupp, Ted Strupp, Archie Strupp, Richard Mitchell and Leonard Drake.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main St. in Rigby. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from noon to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday prior to services, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
