Grace Smith Lilya, 90, of Groveland/Rose, Idaho, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at her home.
She was born July 9, 1923, in Riverside, Idaho, the daughter of Don Cleveland Smith and Alice Velma Ogden.
On July 9, 1943, she married Claude Everett Lilya in the Logan LDS Temple. He preceded her in death March 10, 2011.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a mission in the Northwest States and took her 1-year-old daughter with her. She served five missions with Claude, the first to St. George, Utah; then Perth, Australia; England Church Farm; Sydney, Australia; and the fifth to help build the Nauvoo Temple.
She is survived by her children, LaRie (Clarence) Peck of Blackfoot, LeeAnn (Douglas) Korth of Herriman, Utah, Claudon (Margaret) Lilya of Rose, Rod (Nancy) Lilya of Rose, Lorin (Kristine) Lilya of Rose and Lené (Devon) Hartley of Herriman, Utah; sister, Dawna Herndon of Nampa, Idaho; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Claude; and daughter-in-law, Ann Lilya.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Rose LDS Chapel, 403 N. 150 West in Blackfoot. The family will meet with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave. in Blackfoot. Interment will be in Groveland Cemetery.
