Jean (Sidle) Crofts passed away Monday, June 17, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell, Mont.
Jean was born in Shelley to Gwen and Lloyd Sidle on March 9, 1931. She went through the public school system and graduated from Shelley High School in 1949. In her high school years, she and her best friend, Bonnie, enjoyed going to dances, where she met her future husband, Dean Crofts.
Jean and Dean were married Dec. 28, 1949. Together they had five children: Ron, Terry, Randy, Kris and Steven. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, with an infectious smile! She loved traveling with Dean, especially to Hawaii. Jean also treasured her family vacations, particularly to Island Park, Yellowstone and Jackson, Wyo.
Jean had a love for life, singing, dancing and whistling the entire way. She was amazingly strong of spirit and always up for an adventure! Jean is survived by her husband, Dean; her sons, Ron, Randy and Steven (Jean); her daughter, Kris; her daughter-in-law, Leah; her grandchildren, Justin, Cory, Jadey, Cody, Kelsey, Tommy and Anna; and her sister, Kay.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gwen and Lloyd Sidle; and her son, Terry.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 21, at at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Missoula. A reception will follow at Dean's home, 5411 Iowa Ave. in Florence, Mont. Buffalo Hill Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for the family.
