Jeffery Mark Kolbe Obituary

My dad, Jeffery Mark Kolbe, passed away Friday, August 2, 2013. He was 48 years young. We called him \\\"Old Man\\\" and \\\"Timer,\\\" but really, he was way too young to go.

He had seven grandkids and one on the way to make eight. We will never forget the good times and the bad, because between the good and the bad were good life lessons. The way he explained those life lessons was a little different than most dads. That\\\'s why he was our dad and we loved him. We will miss you, Dad, and take what you taught us and use it to build and teach our own families. You were always there for me, even though you didn\\\'t have to be. You will be missed but never forgotten. Drink one for me up there, \\\"Timer.\\\" Love you, Nicholas Magera.

My dad gave me the best childhood that was as full as his life. To prepare me for my future, he once told me, \\\"Always look at what\\\'s far ahead of you to be one step ahead of what is right now, because right now can cause an accident in your future, but don\\\'t forget to live every moment.\\\" That advice has stuck with me over many years in many decisions. Love you, Amelia Jean Kolbe Colwell.

My dad was a free spirit who believed in living life the way he wanted, to the fullest. He was the life of the party everywhere he went, and even total strangers couldn\\\'t forget who he was. He took his kids on adventures everywhere and gave me the best childhood any kid could ask for. I love and miss him with everything I\\\'ve got, but the memories of him will never go away. I am who I am today because of him. He was my hero, my best friend, and best of all, my dad. Love you, Tyler Myles Kolbe.

A special thanks to Jeff\\\'s cousins, Mike and Kathy Stewart, who have always been there for us and have been a huge support for the family.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Laurie Kolbe Magera of Salt Lake City; children, Nicholas Richard (Bonnie) Magera, Amelia Jean Kolbe (Doug) Colwell, Tyler Myles (Kathryn) Kolbe and Ashley Kolbe, all of Salt Lake City; eight grandchildren, Yoko Herrera, Carson Colwell, Kieko Herrera, Joshua Kolbe, Canyon Magera, Junnie Kolbe, Ryder Colwell and River Jeffery Kolbe, all of Salt Lake City; sister, Deborah (James) Klingenberg of Idaho Falls; brother, Greg (Dawn) Sykes of Boise; stepmother, Vicky Brown of Brisbane, California; and stepbrothers, Richard Sykes of Boise, Victor (Sue) Kolbe of Washougal, Washington, and Shane Kolbe of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Kolbe; mother, Dorthy Jean Steiver Sykes; dad, Floyd Sykes; and grandparents, Albert and Hannah Kolbe.
