Linda Dorine Spanbauer, 54, of Blackfoot, passed away Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, in Salt Lake City from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.
She was born Dec. 11, 1957, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the daughter of John Russell Newnam and Barbara Jan Zoeller.
She graduated from high school in Seoul, South Korea. She attended Scottsdale Community College in Arizona and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration accounting from Idaho State University.
On Dec. 20, 1986, she married Craig Spanbauer in Las Vegas.
Linda was a parishioner of the Catholic Church.
She worked for Wada Farms as an accountant. She had also worked for Westcore Partners in Phoenix and Melaleuca in Idaho Falls.
Linda loved reading, cross-country skiing, walking, bike riding, sewing and gardening. She could really throw a baseball and loved to play catch with her husband, Craig, and son, Joe. Linda was loved by all and was always known for her amazing smile and her infectious laugh. She was a devoted mother and wife and an amazing sister, daughter, niece and aunt. She will be missed dearly and will remain in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her husband, Craig of Blackfoot; son, Joseph Craig Spanbauer of Blackfoot; parents, Barbara Fitzgerald of Scottsdale, Ariz., and John Russell (Regina) Newnam of Hong Kong, China; mother-in-law, Janice Spanbauer of Burley, Idaho; brother, Gregory (Luetta) Newnam of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sisters, Cindy (Randy) Romero of The Woodlands, Texas, and Rebecca Newnam and Kathryn Henshaw, both of Scottsdale; brother-in-law, Dennis (Marie) Spanbauer of Lewisville, Idaho; sisters-in-law, Jeanie (Bob) McDonald and Jackie (Blaine) Higley, both of Kimberly, Idaho; aunts, Valerie Raspberry and Victoria Brown; 11 nieces and 23 nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Paul Spanbauer.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. The family will meet with friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave. in Blackfoot, and from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A Rosary service will be held at 9:15 a.m. following the visitation, then everyone will proceed to St. Bernard's Catholic Church in procession following the Rosary. Interment will be in Groveland Cemetery.
