On Nov. 4, 1944, she married Ivan L. Wessel in Idaho Falls. They farmed for several years in the Idaho Falls and Blackfoot areas. In 1959, they moved to Idaho Falls, where Lucille continued her career as a licensed practical nurse at Sacred Heart hospital, retiring after 35 years.

Lucille enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, fishing, doing ceramics, playing pinochle and traveling. Until her health started to fail, she was an active member of the Idaho Falls VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include her sons, Ralph (Susan) Wessel of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Carl (Jane) Wessel of Oklahoma City, Okla.; daughters, Sandra Dingman, Teresa Wessel and Pat Miller, all of Idaho Falls; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Louise Keller of Moore, Idaho; and her sister-in-law, Luella Young of Mebane, N.C.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons, John, Joseph and Craig; her brothers, Andrew, Edmond and Raymond Young; her sisters, Marie Short and Irene Donaldson; a great-grandson, Zachary Smith; and a son-in-law, Harold E. Miller.
