Mary Irene Lyon Kelley, 63, of Idaho Falls, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, after living with neuromyelitis optica (NMO) for three years, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 17, 1949, in Shelley, to Elvin Lyon and Patrina Bolander Lyon. She grew up and attended schools in Firth, graduating from Firth High School.
On March 22, 1974, she married Richard H. Kelley in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
Mary was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed crocheting for her family and friends. She especially loved her family and being with them.
Survivors are her husband, Richard Kelley of Idaho Falls; sons, Casey (Emily) Kelley of Idaho Falls, Kevin (Kimberlee) Kelley of Rexburg and Clint (Klarisa) Kelley of Idaho Falls; father, Elvin Lyon of Firth; brothers, Robert Lyon of Firth, Mike Lyon of Lincoln, Idaho, and Bryce Lyon of Ammon; sisters, Patty Jolley of Orem, Utah, Dawn Hansen of Idaho Falls and Colleen Kidman of Shelley; and 14 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kay Kelley; her mother; her grandparents; and her father-in-law, John Kelley.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at the Idaho Falls LDS 31st Ward, 1165 Azalea Drive, with Brother Ken Minnix, a counselor in the bishopric, officiating. The family will visit with friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, Jan. 13, at the Idaho Falls 31st Ward and from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery.
