Robert David Scheets, 56, of Idaho Falls, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2012, at his home from a rare blood clot in his liver.
He was born Sept. 23, 1955, to Vernon John Scheets and Helen Reed Scheets in Idaho Falls. Robbie grew up and attended elementary, junior high and high school in Idaho Falls.
He met Karen Andreason, and they were married in 1976. Together they raised three children: Brandon, Nicole and Jeremy. They were later divorced.
In 1991, he married Teresa Herrera, who had two daughters, Brandi and Jennifer, and one son, Todd. It was commonly said we were the "Brady Bunch." Robbie started working with his father and brother at the Stardust Restaurant in Idaho Falls. He was so little he would have to stand on a stool in the kitchen to do the dishes. Eventually, Robbie started to cook. He left the Stardust and started working for INL in 1983, and he became a chef in the cafeteria. He worked for 20 years and later went on disability.
Robbie enjoyed camping, fishing and going to family reunions. His favorite pastime was playing bingo, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Scheets of Idaho Falls; sons, Brandon (Tracie) Scheets of Coeur d'Alene, and Jeremy (Jessica) Scheets of Shelley; daughter, Nicole Eaton Scheets of Idaho Falls; stepson, Todd (Lisa) Holverson of Boston; stepdaughters, Brandi (Manuel) Moreno of Idaho Falls and Jennifer McMurtrey of Rigby; sister, Marlyn Clyde) Haegle of Coeur d'Alene; brother, Dick (Brenda) Scheets of Coeur d'Alene; and 11 grandchildren.
