Ron Clements, 72, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully at his residence Thursday, June 13, 2013, surrounded by his children.
Ron was born June 11, 1941, in Provo, Utah, to George A. Clements and Della Chloe Clements. He graduated from Provo High School in 1959 and joined the Army the same year. He was stationed in Germany for most of his enlistment through 1962.
He married Peggy Brownell in 1963, and moved to Idaho Falls to work for Brownell and Sons, News Co. until 1980. He later worked for Simplot Company until 1998. They had four children and later divorced.
He played sports as a young man and enjoyed fishing with his dad and brothers. Later in life, he enjoyed fishing with his youngest son, watching movies and watching various sporting events.
Ron had a great sense of humor and had a way of getting to the point. He liked to laugh and have a good time. He always spoke lovingly about his baby sister, whom he helped care for and loved very much.
Ron is survived by his brothers, Ray (Janet) Clements of Orem, Utah, Rex (Dorothy) Clements of Mapleton, Utah, and Allen (Pat) Clements of St. George, Utah; his children, Rich (Mary) Clements of Boise, Brian Clements of Salt Lake City, Kurt (Polly) Clements of Idaho Falls and Michelle Harris (Jason) of Idaho Falls; and 15 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and younger sister, Linda.
No public services will be held. He will be buried in Provo, Utah, next to his parents. Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. in Idaho Falls.
