Sharon Eileen Mace Anaya Obituary

Sharon Eileen Mace Anaya, our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, after a brief but brave battle with leukemia.

Sharon was born Aug. 7, 1946, in Medford, Ore., to Jack and Olive Mace. She had one sister born on the exact date, to the minute, two years later, Ginny Mace Schaw, and a younger brother, Bob Mace. Sharon grew up in Vancouver, Wash., and received a bachelor's degree in biology from Washington State University. She went on to later earn her teaching degree from Idaho State University.

Sharon was a devoted mother to her sons, Lance, Patrick and Jason Williams. She always said that her most important purpose in life was her children. She was their constant source of protection, support and love. She also leaves behind six grandchildren -- Elora, Sagan, Cole, Michael, Samantha and Bodhin -- and her spirit lives on in them.

In 2002, she married the love of her life, Sam Anaya, and moved with him to Santa Fe, N.M. He was by her side at the time of her death.

Sharon had many talents and interests. She was a talented painter and stained glass worker, seamstress and crafter, including pine needle weaving and doll making. She also loved to play the piano and harp and always shared her talents with family and friends. She taught students at both Clair E. Gale Jr. High School and at Tiebreaker Elementary School, worked as a biologist at the INEL, and was a Realtor. Later in life, she became interested in spiritual and energy healing and used her trainings to heal, help and inspire whenever possible. Whatever job or pastime, she was in her heart a teacher and enjoyed sharing her various interests with family and friends. Her warm and loving spirit will be dearly missed.

Services will be private. Condolences can be made at www.facebook.com/sha ron.anaya.522.
