Bill was born March 31, 1929, in Rexburg to Alma and Henrietta Klingler. He grew up and attended schools in Rexburg.
Following his mission to Northern California, he studied at the University of Utah, graduating in electrical engineering.
While living in Utah, he met and married the love of his life, Myrna Loreen Tronier, in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 9, 1954.
Bill continued his education in Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Pittsburgh, eventually receiving an equivalent of a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering. Bill's newly acquired skills earned him a position back in Idaho, where he worked on the design of the reactor for the first nuclear powered aircraft carrier, the USS Enterprise. He later moved his family to Rancho Cordova, Calif., where he worked for Aero Jet Nuclear. In 1967, he brought his family back to Rexburg, taking a position back at the INEL, where he worked for 25 years until his retirement in 1992.
Bill is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in a variety of ward and stake positions. He is steadfast in his testimony of Jesus Christ and often took the time to share it with family and friends. Bill loved his country, enjoyed being a licensed amateur radio operator, working in the yard, tinkering with electronics and mechanical items, and spending time with his family. He could fix anything. He was also a whiz at math, solving complicated equations in his head. Bill was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa.
Bill took great pride in and always showed much love to his family, which includes his wife, Myrna Klingler of Rexburg; and six children: daughters, Debbie (Chris) King, serving a mission in South Africa, and Paula (Rock) Steel of Lindon, Utah; and sons, Michael (Brenda) Klingler of Iona, Kevin (Karen) Klingler of Rexburg, David (Erin) Klingler of Iona and Steven (Christie) Klingler of Rexburg.
