Zada Arentz Obituary

Zada Fillmore Arentz passed away April 20, 2013, peacefully in her sleep at the home of her daughter, Cathy, in Grand Junction, Colo.

She was born Nov. 15, 1918. She was a graduate of Rigby High School and attended Idaho State University in Pocatello, where she was active in many collegiate activities.

During World War II, she married Robert Pearson Arentz (deceased) of Denver.

Zada was born at the end of the First World War and earned her pilot's license during the Second World War. She flew for the Civil Air Patrol.

She was an accomplished ragtime and jazz piano player. Her many interests included watercolor and Japanese brush painting, photography, gardening, traveling, river trips, exploring back roads and flying.

She was a good friend to many, a good listener and a great conversationalist. Her mind remained sharp to the very end. Having lived so long, she had a unique and personal perspective on people and life in general.

She is survived by her four children, Robert Arentz of Lafayette, Colo., Christine Arentz of Boston, David Anthony Arentz of Longmont, Colo., and Florence Catherine Arentz of Grand Junction, Colo.; and two grandsons, Jason Edward Gabriel Arentz of Fayetteville, Ark., and Sean Michael Sebastian Arentz of Denver.

Interment services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at Rigby Pioneer Cemetery in Rigby.
