Helen Allene Bargelski, 97, of Idaho Falls, passed away Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at Life Care Center.
She was born Feb. 12, 1914, in Erie, Pa., to Joseph Erdely and Elizabeth Ugorchak Erdely, who emigrated from Hungary in 1909. Helen was one of 12 children and the oldest girl.
Helen went back to school to complete her high school education and earned her GED when she was 78 years old.
On Sept. 7, 1936, she married Raymond Bargelski in Erie.
Helen enjoyed arts and crafts and was an avid reader. She also worked a daily crossword puzzle.
Helen and Raymond moved to Idaho Falls to be near their family in 1988.
Survivors include her son, Michael J. (Donna) Bargelski; grandsons, Chris J. Bargelski and Jeff D. Thompson; and granddaughter, Chanin Thompson, all of Idaho Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, and daughter, Susan Bargelski Gunesch.
Private family services were held Friday, Feb. 3, in Taylor Cemetery in Idaho Falls. Arrangements were under the direction of Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home in Idaho Falls.
