Marjorie Poulter Obituary

Marjorie Long Poulter, 87, of Idaho Falls, died Saturday, April 26, 2014, at her home. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.

She was born Sept. 20, 1926, in Idaho Falls to Howard and Erna Drewes Long. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, graduating from Idaho Falls High School in 1944.

Marjorie married Edwin Frank Poulter on Jan. 4, 1945, in Idaho Falls. They lived in Idaho Falls and Menan.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and was active in church activities including the Braille Group, choir and bible studies. She particularly loved playing pinochle with a lifelong group of friends and also enjoyed gardening, singing and reading.

Marjorie is survived by her husband, Edwin Poulter of Idaho Falls; sons, Jim Poulter of Moore, Idaho, Brent (Jenni) Poulter of Plano, Idaho, Craig Poulter of Cottonwood, Ariz., and Jon Poulter of Las Vegas; daughter, Cindy (Thomas) Jicha of Idaho Falls; sisters, Dorothy James of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Karen (Paul) Davis of Boise; 10 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Norma Davis; and her son, Brad Poulter.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, at St. John Lutheran Church, 290 Seventh St. in Idaho Falls, with Rev. Gerald Reinke officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
