Damian Calzadias, 23, formerly of Idaho Falls, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014, in North Dakota due to a drowning accident.
He was born Sept. 18, 1990, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Alonso Calzadias and Silvia Chavez Calzadias. Thefamily moved to Dubois when he was 2 years old. He attended Clark County High School. He moved to Idaho Falls when he was 17 years old and had lived in Crosby, N.D. for the past three years.
Damian worked in the construction industry. He was a member of the Catholic Church. He enjoyed low rider cars, collecting cars and loved his children.
He was always happy, always smiling, and giggled about everything. The one thing he was very good at was making anyone smile -- even on their worst day. He was spontaneous and adventurous and loved to go driving around town. He also loved scaring people.
Survivors include his parents, Alonso and Silvia Calzadias of Dubois; Soul Mate, Brandi Smithies-Rodriguez of Crosby, N.D.; children, Angelina Marie Calzadias, Cody Emmanuel Calzadias, and one on the way, all of Crosby, N.D.; brother, Alex Calzadias of St. Anthony; and sisters, Angelica Calzadias (Fernando) Ruiz and Guadalupe Calzadias, both of Dubois.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
A funeral Mass will be held at 3 p.m. today, May 23, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. in Idaho Falls, with Father Jose Ramirez officiating. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the Mass at the funeral home. Burial will be in Dubois Cemetery on Saturday, May 24.
