Nina Firth Obituary

Nina Firth, 88, of Rexburg, died Monday, May 26, 2014.

She was born Oct. 1, 1925, in Rexburg, to Earl and Cora Lucy Arnold Bowen. Nina moved to Wilson at six years old. The family moved back to Rexburg when she started school.

She married William Firth on July 28, 1942. The day after they were married, Bill was shipped off to Army basic training. During his absence, their first daughter, Jeanene, was born. Upon Bill€™s return, they moved out to Thornton and started farming on the Firth Homestead. Life on the farm included three more children, Earlene, Lamont and Kenneth. The family spent many years working and enjoying the land.

Nina loved to quilt, do yard work and garden. After Bill passed away in 1988, Nina sold the farm and moved to Idaho Falls for 12 years, and then back to Rexburg for the remaining time.

Nina is survived by her children, Jeanene (Brent) Hensley of Rexburg, Earlene (Kent) Mickelsen of Idaho Falls, Lamont Firth of Saint Anthony and Kenneth Firth of Thornton; as well as 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at Flamm Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday before services, both at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sutton Cemetery.
