Ronald John Obituary

Ronald LaVere John, 69, of Blackfoot, passed away unexpectedly at his home Friday, June 13 2014.

He was born June 24, 1944, in Shelley to Thomas LaVere and Zola Sorensen John. He was the second of four children.

On Feb. 1, 1980, he married Janeal Rae Bates. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

Ron was a loving son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting and camping. He had a great sense of humor, and most people never walked away from him without a smile on their faces. He had a very unique way with animals; they loved him as much as he loved them.

Ron was the person you called or wanted to see if you were having a bad day, because he had a way of making you laugh and forget your troubles. He made you feel loved. He had many friends and was well-loved by the community.

He is survived by his father, Thomas L. John of Blackfoot; four siblings, Thomas L. (Bonnie) John of Pocatello, Linda Steffler of Lava Hot Springs, David (Keri) John of Blackfoot and Karolyn (John) Taberna of Blackfoot; six children, Kirk John of Pocatello, Charmon John of Blackfoot, AnNisa (John) Sliker of Idaho Falls, Rachelle Fullmer of Idaho Falls, Clinton (Kayla) John of Idaho Falls and Donna (Kevin) Leathers of Idaho Falls; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janeal; and his mother, Zola.

This was a sudden and tragic loss for all, he will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 20, at the Wapello Second Ward Chapel, 337 N. 200 East. The family will receive friends and family from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 W. Oak St. in Shelley, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. Friday prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.nalderfuneralhome.com.
