Guenavere Hannah Robison Boyce, 90, of Rigby, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at her home.
She was born Feb. 27, 1924, at Archer, Idaho, the youngest child of Ivan Oscar and Lorena McIntier Robison. She grew up in the Archer-Lyman area and attended school there. Her mother died when she was 12 years old and she and her sister, Reva, took responsibility of the home.
She married Kenneth W. Boyce on July 8, 1940, in Rigby. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on April 21, 1965. He preceded her in death Aug. 26, 2000.
She was a homemaker and helped her husband farm for many years. The first two years of their marriage was spent at Olympia, Wash., where they were stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash., with the Army. After her husband was sent overseas in 1942, she returned home and lived with her father until 1944, when her husband was discharged. They purchased a home in Rigby and lived here until 1948. They then purchased a farm near Rigby, where they farmed and lived the rest of their lives.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she enjoyed her service teaching in Primary, Relief Society, Young Women's and the Scouting program. One of the great joys of her life was the hours she spent working on genealogy, researching names for the extraction program and her own ancestors. She served a mission at the Family History Library at BYU Idaho for 11 years and another four years at the Rigby East Stake Family History Center.
She was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by four children, Launa (Cliff) Thomas of Menan, Paula (Norman) Wyatt of Idaho Falls, Jodie (Elizabeth) Boyce of Rigby and Aaron (Debbie) Boyce of Tigard, Ore.; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Sandra Janeane; one sister, Reva Lindstrom; and two brothers, Ormand and Elmo.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will visit with friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday prior to services, both times at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
